An open pollinated, heirloom, dwarf variety that produces an abundance of large, firm, flavorful dark green sprouts of the highest quality but not uniform in size on compact plants. Brussels sprout seed must be started indoors and transplanted to the garden to mature sprouts in Alaska. The sprouts have a mild cabbage-like flavor but are more tender and tasty than cabbage. Leaves can be used fresh but may also be dried and used as a seasoning. Late and will not mature sprouts in some cool coastal areas.
