An early maturing, open pollinated, American type slicing cucumber that produces uniform heavy yields of slender, smooth, tapered, dark green, 8 to 9 inch white spined fruits over a long harvest season. A variety that is grown as a garden variety in warm climates and also popular for greenhouse production in the cool areas of northern Europe. Will withstand intense heat often found in a home greenhouse. Resistant to powdery mildew. Must be hand pollinated for greenhouse production. This old standard variety is an excellent slicer.
