An early, open pollinated variety that produces solid, tightly wrapped heads that are firm, crisp and delicious. The uniform, medium dark green, 5 to 5 1/2 inch heads are well wrapped with frilled upright leaves and are ready for harvest in about two months. Slow to bolt. Does well in upland soils and is resistant to tip burn and black rot. Earliest maturing head lettuce for Alaskan gardeners. Early to Midseason.
