Quality and yield like Sugar Snap but earlier. Both the sweet, three inch, fleshy, succulent pods and the full size peas of this early snap variety are delicious. The sweet pods are produced on short, 24 to 30 inch, disease resistant, open pollinated plants that will mature peas approximately one week later than the variety Sugar Ann. Enjoy the pods fresh from the garden with a dip or snapped into pieces and mixed in a salad. The pods are delicious served as a steamed vegetable and used in stir fries or may be shelled so the peas can be used in traditional dishes. Snap peas, like old-fashioned green string beans, have a string running down the pod seam, which must be removed before eating. Midseason.
