Tomato
Tomatoes are a warm weather crop and the standard tomato varieties require a night temperature in the upper fifties to lower sixties to pollinate and produce fruit making these varieties a greenhouse crop in Alaska. A breeding program in Alaska has produced several tomato varieties that will pollinate and produce fruit when the night temperature is only in the mid forties making them garden varieties in the warmer areas of the state.
