A Scottish heirloom, introduced in the 1800's, is slow to bolt and produces mild flavored stalks with longfan shaped, dark green leaves. The blanched white bases areshort and tender. The giant leek grows to 9-15 inches long by 2-3 inches in diameter. Although cold hardy, they will not over winter in Alaska.
