They were brought to Walla Walla, Washington by a French soldier from Corsica, Italy over a century ago. Bulbs are early maturing, cold hardy, and have relatively low sulfur content. This is one of the sweetest long day onions, and can be grown in intermediate day areas since it matures so early. A variety rercommended for interior Alaska by the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
